Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information a group trip involves, why it is collected, and how it is handled while coordinating many travelers into one plan.
Information collected for a group trip
To coordinate a shared trip, the service collects the details needed to build and run it, including:
- Traveler identity basics such as name and email used to invite and notify participants.
- RSVP responses, available travel dates, and stated preferences for each traveler.
- Budget bands provided to shape a plan that fits the group.
- Payment status and the share amounts each traveler owes or has paid.
- Itinerary and booking details that make up the shared plan.
How the information is used
Information is used only to operate the coordination the group asked for:
- Building one shared itinerary from the group's combined constraints.
- Calculating fair cost splits and tracking who has paid.
- Detecting a disruption to one traveler and re-solving the plan for the whole group.
- Sending trip updates and payment reminders based on each traveler's notification preferences.
Privacy between travelers in a group
Coordinating a group does not mean every traveler sees everything about the others. The shared plan, confirmation status and paid-or-pending status are visible to the group because coordination requires them. A traveler's exact budget band is used to shape the plan but is not broadcast, and an individual's personal expenses stay on their own tab.
Payment information
The service tracks the amounts each traveler owes and whether a share has been paid. Sensitive payment credentials are handled by the payment provider processing the transaction and are not stored by the coordination service.
Data retention
Trip information is kept while a trip is active and for a limited period afterward so the group can reference it. Information tied to a closed trip is removed once it is no longer needed for that trip.
Sharing with third parties
Information is shared only with the providers needed to deliver the service, such as booking, payment and messaging providers, and only to the extent required to carry out the coordination. Information is not sold.
Your choices
Travelers can adjust their notification preferences, request access to the information held about them for a trip, and request its removal in line with the retention approach above.
Changes to this policy
If the way information is handled changes, this policy will be revised to reflect it, and material changes affecting active trips will be communicated to the group.
